Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 4 brioche hamburger buns
- 1 cup pizza sauce, warmed
- 1 tablespoon freshly chopped basil
- 1 1/2 pounds 85/15 ground beef
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 6 ounces mini pepperoni
- 1 can Pearls Sliced Ripe Olives, drained
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Cooking Instructions
- Place a large sauté pan over medium heat and add the butter, olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
- Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the garlic just begins to turn golden.
- Quickly dip the cut sides of the buns in the seasoned butter and toast the buns until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Shape the beef into four 6-ounce patties and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Place the burger patties in the skillet and cook over medium heat, pressing down gently with a spatula so that the meat just begins to spread and to create caramelization.
- Cook the burgers on both sides to your desired doneness. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, top each burger with 2 slices of cheese and cover the pan to melt the cheese. Remove the burgers and keep warm.
- To the same pan, add the pepperoni and sauté over high heat for 2 minutes to crisp.
- To assemble, spoon 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce onto each bottom hamburger bun, then top then top with a burger patty, another spoonful of sauce, crispy pepperoni, and Pearls Sliced Ripe Olives. Finish with parmesan cheese.
